Smitten With Mittens

Nothing quite brings to mind a day of fun in the snow as does a pair of warm and cozy hand-knit mittens!

In this workshop, you’ll practice knitting in the round using either a set of double-pointed needles or two circular needles. You’ll learn how to knit a thumb gusset and how to get rid of those pesky gaps that frequently occur where the thumb joins the mitten!

When the workshop wraps up, you’ll take home Knit Pickers PEI’s original “Smitten with Mittens” pattern and the confidence to knit a pair of mittens with a gusset thumb!

​”Smitten with Mittens” is offered every Wednesday from 11 am to 1 pm from May 28th to October 8th, 2025 inclusive. Space is limited – advance registration, including payment, is required to guarantee your spot.

Price: $75.00 (+HST) per person. Have your own double-pointed needles, or two sets of circular needles of the same size? Bring them along! If not – we have, available to purchase, a lovely selection of Canadian-made ergonomic “Square” needles by Kollage that relieve stress and pain in your hands and wrists!

**Note: Basic knitting skills (how to knit and purl stitches) are required.
