North Rustico – PEI National Park

An easy 5-minute drive from Cavendish, North Rustico (known as “The Crick” by locals) embodies everything that’s magical about Island summers. This tightly-knit and charming fishing village is packed with plenty of delightful experiences, from traditional lobster dinners to artisan shopping, boardwalk strolling, deep sea fishing and, of course, more beaching!

The beach at North Rustico is part of the PEI National Park and can be accessed at either end (west or east). At the west end, you’ll find dedicated parking and a quiet, sheltered beachfront that’s perfect for sun-basking and sand castle-building, as well as swimming.

The east entrance to the beach is located a mere walk from North Rustico’s busy harbourfront, where seaside dining and watersports beckon.  At the beach, you’ll be greeted by wide swaths of white sand beach set against PEI’s signature red sandstone cliffs. During the hot summer days, you’ll find many locals flocking to the east beach. Don’t let that deter you – after all, beaches are where new friends are often made on the Island!

A reminder that pets are not permitted on the National Park beaches, in an effort to protect the endangered Piping Plovers that nest in the beach sand and dunes.
