Poets of Prince Edward Island
Join moderator Bren Simmers for an engaging conversation with three Prince Edward Island poets whose work explores the landscapes, histories, livelihoods, and stories that shape Island life.
Historian and writer Edward MacDonald brings together poetry, memoir, and memory in reflections on a changing Prince Edward Island. Award-winning poet, editor, and arts leader Jane Ledwell draws on deep connections to place, community, and the natural world. Commercial fisherman and celebrated poet Chris Bailey offers a powerful perspective from coastal life, work, and the realities of contemporary Island experience.
Together, these three remarkable writers will discuss their creative processes, the role of place in their work, and how poetry helps us understand where we come from and where we are headed.
