L.M. Montgomery & the Spirit of Place

L. M. Montgomery & the Spirit of Place. Experience the creative dialogue between literature, landscape, and visual art in “L.M. Montgomery and the Spirit of Place”. Island artist Susan Christensen presents her exhibition inspired by the poetry of L.M. Montgomery, interpreting Montgomery’s words through a series of original paintings.

Throughout the event, Christensen will paint on site at the Green Gables Visitor Centre and engage with visitors about her artistic process, inspiration, and connection to Montgomery’s work.

Each painting in the exhibition is paired with a literary response by an Island writer, Renée Blanchette, creating a unique conversation between visual art and the written word.
Blanchette will share selections from Montgomery’s poetry, discuss the inspiration behind her own literary responses, and read from her work.

Set within the landscape that inspired Montgomery herself, this special event offers an opportunity to experience her enduring legacy through art, poetry, and place.
