Explore the historic Acadian roots of Rustico with this authentic experience that begins with a personalized tour of historic properties: Farmers’ Bank of Rustico, St. Augustine’s Church, and the Doucet House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Join us for an immersive, traditional, and experiential Acadian meal on the grounds and gardens of the 1772 Doucet House, the sturdy log home that Jean Doucet built in 1772 for his wife, Marguerite, and their large family of nine children. Using recipes passed down through the generations featuring traditional ingredients, vegetables, and herbs from heritage gardens, the meal consists of an appetizer, traditional Acadian chicken fricot (soup) with bannock, Rustico meat pie with rapure, vegetables, and homemade bread, pickles and molasses, and a seasonal dessert served with ice cream. You’ll even make your own butter and homemade ice cream while the bannock is baking in the outdoor bread oven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinner hours are 5:30-8pm, Wednesday-Saturday, from June-September 2024. Meals are served \u00ab\u00a0family style\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
