Wake up, breathe in the ocean air, pour your favourite Samuel’s blend, and walk onto the deck. The backdrop to your front yard is a beach, our beach, and you are ready for another summer day at home in Cavendish Beach.
Cavendish Beach has so many amazing tourist attractions, it takes days to get them all in! Have you ever wondered what the locals love? Wonder no more!
Deep Sea Fishing
With both Joey’s Deep Sea Fishing and Aiden’s Deep Sea Fishing, you are sure to have the best time! While deep sea fishing, you experience first-hand how fishermen catch mackerel and cod. Not only do you get to keep the fish you catch, you get to see the breathtaking views of Prince Edward Island from the water. Don’t forget your camera to capture your time on the boat, and just maybe catch a glimpse of whales or seals!
There’s nothing quite like the rolling hills of Clinton and the beautiful Clinton Hills Rustic Barn to set the mood for the Ross Family brother and sister team performing a full throttle ceilidh, a staple of the PEI roots music scene. It’s a true Island experience that will get your feet moving!
Benny and Nyk
You are sure to see Benny and his loyal partner Nyk walking around Cavendish Beach! Dressed in their RCMP uniforms, they travel all around Cavendish taking pictures with tourists and discussing all of the latest news.
The Yellow House
Locals love to get their picnic-ready meals from The Yellow House. Are you getting ready for a day at the beach but don’t want to pack your own classic picnic lunch? No problem, The Yellow House will do it for you! Lunch items include a sandwich, drink, dessert, and more – it’s delicious!
We have two amazing lobster supper venues in Cavendish Beach – Fisherman’s Wharf and New Glasgow Lobster Suppers. Both venues are amazing, brimming with fresh seafood, and the locals like to split their love of lobster between the two! Either way, you are sure to enjoy the best lobster in town (because it’s all from our wharf) and the best service (because nobody does hospitality like we do).
We could never talk about what locals love and not mention golf! One of our favourite pastimes is golf – whether you are an experienced player or a novice, we have it all! If you only have an hour or two for a round, Forrest Hills Golf Course and Red Sands Golf Course both promises a great experience in a short amount of time and is perfect for families and golfers of all skill levels. If you are seeking a full 18-hole championship caliber course, we’ve got that too! With four distinct and remarkable courses within minutes of each other, you can save your driving for the course! Spend your day with Green Gables, Glasgow Hills, Eagles Glenn and Andersons Creek Golf Courses. We’ll see YOU on the course!
Cocoon at the Beach
You can get your nails painted, your toes massaged, and make new friends too. Visit Cocoon at the Beach! While the kids are enjoying all the fun at Mariners Cove Boardwalk (including Ripleys! Believe it or Not and Wax World of the Stars), you can enjoy a spa day! Cocoon at the Beach has any colour you are looking for, as well as the friendliest staff!
The Local Beach
Tucked behind the Cavendish Campground, you can find all the locals at the local beach! With a beautiful view of Sandspit Beach and a perfect sunset, this beach is our favourite place to unwind. Want to know where it is? Ask a local! (Or follow the road into Cavendish Campground and take a left when you see a small parking lot. Park and follow the trail by foot for the most scenic views of Cavendish Beach). The beauty of a PEI sunset at Cavendish Beach is sure to make any evening feel complete.
Do you have questions about more local places we love? Send us a message on any of our social media channels or pop into the Cavendish Visitor Information Centre. We love to talk about Cavendish Beach and look forward to hearing from you!
